Where should I place the PA Widgets on the platform analytics dashboards?

Platform Analytics is entirely front-end. Indicator sources, breakdown sources, indicators, breakdowns, and data collector are all Performance Analytics backend and are not affected at all by the switch from Core UI to Platform Analytics.
However, Platform Analytics dashboards do not support the old Core UI Performance Analytics frontend widgets. Instead, you create a Platform Analytics Data Visualization on an Indicator data source. To reiterate, Platform Analytics Data Visualizations replace Performance Analytics widgets. They also replace reports.
In case I have not made it clear, you cannot put a PA widget on a Platform Analytics dashboard. Do not create PA widgets for Platform Analytics dashboards. Instead, create Platform Analytics data visualizations. All of this is in the documentation.

Can you link to the documentation you're referring to?

https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/xanadu-now-intelligence/page/use/performance-analytics/concep... top of the page says that data visualizations take over the function of reports and PA widgets.

But you are right, I am not sure it explicitly says anywhere that PA widgets are not supported in Platform Analytics. Just that we are migrating to an entirely new UI.

Thanks, Jeff.

I wanted to read the section of the docs to which you were referring so that I could better understand the differences between PA and PA 😉 the marketing/product folks definitely don't earn any points by choosing this confusing nomenclature. The fact that platform is the presentation layer for performance data is definitely not intuitive.

Your explanation is very helpful bc prior to coming across this post I had not seen anything that specifically calls-out front-end vs back-end. My understanding was that platform is the next iteration of performance, but that's not the case. 👍

Anyway, the platform stuff is leagues & bounds beyond core UI reporting.  Just remember that if you say "it's in the docs," somebody's gonna ask for the receipts 😁
