Hi,

I would suggest following steps to validate for this issue:

1. Go to System Applications > All Available Applications > Search for IRM and confirm if status shows as Installed.

2. Check System Logs > System Log > All for any errors during the install.

3. IRM won't show in the navigator unless user has sn_grc_admin, sn_grc_manager or sn_grc_user role. So, please validate and add role, if required.

4. Also, confirm if there are any dependent plugins and they are also installed.

Hope this helps!

Hi @chinwendumiracl ,

Please share more details on "what is not working" after installation.

You should validate all installed items with IRM applications artifacts ( like, tables , process , BRs etc)

Thanks,

Hi @chinwendumiracl ,

If you're new to IRM, I would first verify that the IRM application and all required dependencies were installed successfully. Installing only one IRM-related plugin may not be enough.

For the current Australia release, ServiceNow lists dependencies for IRM such as Policy & Compliance Management, Advanced Risk, Audit, and Risk Assessment.

I would check these in order:

  1. Go to All → System Applications → All Available Applications → All.
  2. Search for Integrated Risk Management / Risk Management and check its installation status.
  3. Open the application and review Dependencies. ServiceNow recommends reviewing dependencies before installation.
  4. Go to System Definition → Plugins and verify that the required plugins are actually Active.
  5. Check System Logs → System Log → All for errors around the time you installed IRM.
  6. If the application installed but the modules/workspaces are missing, check that you're using the appropriate IRM roles and that the required application menus are active.
  7. If this is a PDI, some GRC/IRM applications may not be immediately available or may depend on the current PDI/release and entitlement. ServiceNow also notes that some plugins are not available for PDIs.

One important point: don't immediately reinstall or reset the instance. First check the plugin status and dependencies. ServiceNow's plugin troubleshooting guidance specifically recommends checking v_plugin and sys_plugin_log for skipped records when activation has problems.

If you tell us what exactly isn't working (for example, IRM modules are missing, Risk Workspace doesn't open, Policy & Compliance is missing, or you get an error when creating a Risk), and your ServiceNow release, we can narrow down the exact issue.

Hi @chinwendumiracl , Can you please validate your plugins from the plugin and repair them or update if there is any updated version available.

Also, You can try clearing cache for your instance and try again if it works.

And, yes even though the plugins for IRM are free to use on PDI, I had personally faced many issues while using those plugins such as the the demo data was not loaded, plugins got uninstalled automatically and so on. If you can clarify what exactly is the problem we might be able to find what can be the issue

If this response helps you mark it as accepted solution and give it a thumbs up 👍. This help me and community to find answers quickly.
