Hello ServiceNow Community,
I am facing an issue with my Personal Developer Instance (PDI). The instance has been showing the following message continuously for the last one week:
Instance Offline: Recovery may take long. You can wait, or release it now to request a new one.
I have waited for several days, but the instance has still not recovered. Additionally, I am unable to raise a support ticket or submit a request for recovery release through the available PDI options.
Could you please help me recover my existing PDI, or advise me on the appropriate process to resolve this issue?
Issue details:
- PDI Status: Instance Offline
- Issue duration: Approximately 1 week
- Recovery: Still not completed
- Unable to raise a ticket/request from the PDI interface
- Impact: Unable to access my ServiceNow development environment
Please let me know if you require my PDI instance details or any additional information from my side.

Hi @VIKASHM
Several community members have faced the same instance offline issue ( with different error) this week.
I faced the same Instance offline issue post multiple refresh ( waited for 5-6 hours) on Monday with the following error:
“Bad Request
This combination of host and port requires TLS.”
Since I needed the instance urgently, I released the existing instance through the Developer Portal and requested a new one. I received the new instance within about 2 minutes.
If you’re okay with waiting, you can wait another 1–2 days or possibly longer and keep refreshing/checking the Developer Portal. Hopefully, your instance will come back online.
Alternatively, if you don’t have any important work or data in your offline PDI, you can follow the same process I did and release the existing instance and request a new one.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any support available for PDI.

Hello @VIKASHM ,
Don’t worry, buddy. This has been happening with multiple users these days. My instance also went offline after some time, but it came back online on its own.
You just need to wait for some time and then try logging in again. In rare cases, the instance may not come back online. If it still doesn’t come back after waiting for a while, you can release the instance and request a new one. Always remember if you are working on business requirement in pdi then always take its backup even work is done or in progress , so if unfortunately pdi get offline it will not affect your work .
If this helps you then mark it as helpful and accept as solution.
Regards,
Aditya
