Depending on the existing IT architectural landscape, ServiceNow and SAP customers generally have three integration approaches using ServiceNow’s Integration Hub:

1. Direct integration: ServiceNow can directly integrate with SAP ECC system through standard BAPI, custom BAPI, or IDOC by using ServiceNow’s Integration Hub out-of-the-box Spokes, such as SAP ECC RFC Spoke, SAP S/4HANA RFC Spoke, SAP ECC IDOC Spoke, or SAP S/4HANA IDOC Spoke.
2. Existing middleware: Customers already have an existing middleware like SAP BTP, CPI, or any other third-party middleware. With some tweaks on ServiceNow’s Integration Hub SAP Spokes, ServiceNow can integrate with the middleware of your choice, and further integrate with SAP systems.
3. OData integration: ServiceNow also offers SAP S/4HANA OData Spoke and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Spoke to integrate with SAP S/4HANA private and public cloud, respectively, whether it is a direct integration or through an existing middleware.
