We have a contract type of "Value Incentive Plan (VIP)" and as there is no choice for this in either the contract or entitlement forms, wanted to get input on which table to add this to. Getting conflicting answers but figure this is a common situation.

Hi @Ed Shooshanian ,
VIP is already available OOB in ServiceNow, After checking both forms, here's the full picture:
1: Software Entitlement VIP is already OOB
The "Agreement type" field on the Software Entitlement record already includes "Value Incentive Plan" as a picklist option no customisation needed. This is the right place to set it, as SAM Pro's reconciliation engine reads Agreement type from the Entitlement, not the Contract.
2: Contract use an existing OOB Contract Model
The Contract form uses a "Contract model" reference field (cmdb_model table), not a choice list. OOB options include Software License and Subscription. Recommend using one of these and letting the Entitlement's Agreement type carry the VIP designation no customisation required and SAM reconciliation will work correctly.
If VIP is needed on the Contract for reporting/governance reasons, you can add it as a new record in the Product Models table (category = Contract) but it's not needed for compliance to function.
If this helped sort things out, please mark it as Helpful and Accept it as the Solution much appreciated.
Regards,
Abby

Helpful but not the exact answer I needed. I was looking for whether the Value Incentive Plan should appear on the Contract Table or the Entitlement table. This was more related to more related to the import spreadsheet.

FYI, CoPilot was giving the opposite answer which was why I questioned this. Thanks for the complete response. Now we just need to feed this to CoPilot 🙂
