in my PDI I have sn_itam_hamp (software asset management plugin) when I tried to install it , com.snc.samp (SAM pro ) was in dependencies , after installing the plugin I can see the com.snc.samp (SAM pro ) in plugin installation history . Does that means I can use SAM pro for free in plugin ?

Hi @kiran kumar m1 ,

you can enable it in pdi but when you install in client prod instance it will be chargeable.

many plugins are paid but we can use it in non prod instances and it will be only changed when you enable it in prod.

Hi @kiran kumar m1

How can one install SAM Pro on PDI (Personal Developer Instance) and be Unable to find Software Asset Workspace on PDI even after SAM Pro Plugin is installed successfully, and etc. Today, I am here to give the answers to all your queries for the same.

To Install SAM Pro on your PDI, There are a few steps that you need to follow:-

Step 1 - Open the developer site "developer.servicenow.com" and sign in with your credentials.

Step 2 - Go to Profile Section > Click on "Activate Plugin" and Type "Software Asset Management". Try to locate and choose the option "Software Asset Management Professional".

Step 3 - Click on "Activate Plugin" or "Activate Plugin with demo data" that suits your requirements. This process will take some time to install the "SAM Pro" Plugin on your PDI.

To check for the Plugin installed on your PDI successfully, you can try searching for SAM Tables like:-

1. Software Installation - cmdb_sam_sw_install

2. Software Discovery Model - cmdb_sam_sw_discovery_model

3. Software Entitlements - alm_license

4. Content Service Setup - sn_samp_content_service_setup

5. Software Product Lifecycle - sam_sw_product_lifecycle
