configuration management database (CMDB) Dependency on SAM Pro

What are the required CI attributes per CMDB Class and relationship information that SAM Pro requires??

Since I could see following details around CMDB health in the 'Implementation best practices for ServiceNow Software Asset Management' guide.

ServiceNow Software Asset Management has a high dependency on the
configuration management database (CMDB). Software Asset Management queries
specific CMDB classes and attributes and relationships between configuration
items (CIs) during reconciliation. Reconciliation is the process that calculates the
compliance status of software products and vendors by comparing software usage
with purchased rights.
If CI records or attributes are not detected in the expected CI class or attribute, they
will be ignored during reconciliation, leading to an incorrect compliancy calculation
result. Software Asset Management requires all CMDB classes and attributes that are
in scope of Software Asset Management reconciliation to be out of the box.

Hi Arun

ServiceNow want to sell Discovery, and ServiceGraph connectors, and as such they 'certify' these to work across the product set and deliver the right data to the right tables and fields.

So in my limited experience you should look at the Discovery pattern, or ServiceGraph connector, documentation - there are often gaps, and its not always consistent, but are often a good indication of what is required.

The only other way of understanding what data is required is to understand the vendors license model for each product installed, and validate the appropriate data and reconciliation result manually.

Hope this helps, and if so please mark as helpful.
