The list of the Discovery Models displays the Product ID for the discovered software. The ServiceNow Wiki describes the field as a "Unique ID for the product assigned by the manufacturer. Found through discovery." Can any correlation be made between the SKU and the Product ID? How do others use this field?

Product SKU or Publisher Part Number is tracked via Software Entitlement form. The same form will auto populate the respective software model for the selected SKU.
ServiceNow content services team will provide Discovery mapping rules (DMAP), which will help to correlate the SKU product name to a discovered installed software via Software Model.

Thanks Sree! Does your resolution presume Jakarta and SAM Professional?
We are using Jakarta but not SAM Pro. I could not find an entry for "Software Entitlements".

Philip,
As you are not in SAM Professional, what is now called Software Entitlements are called Software Licenses in your environment. You also have a difference in that you need to identify on the Software Discovery Models which Software Model to associate them with (reverse direction of what Sree describes above).
