How to upload IBM Consumption /Usage /Installation

Hi,

We have enable the plugins for IBM Compliance. However, we were not able to have the integration to ILMT and/or Anglepoint. Now my question is, how can we upload the extracted consumption from ILMT to ServiceNow to reconcile with entitlements? And in which table should we upload it to?

Data provided are as follow:

Publisher Name
Product Name
Metric Qty
Server Name
Computer Name
PVU per Core
OS
Product Release
Metric Peak Value Time
Processor Model
Processor Brand String
Physical Server CPU Core Subcapacity Limit
Physical Server CPU Core Subcapacity
Physical Server PVU Subcapacity Limit
Physical Server PVU Subcapacity
Partition Cores
PVU consumption per server
IP Address
Component Name
Custom Bundling

Hi, you’ve to complete the entitlement onboarding and review all the ILMT discovery model to ensure they’re normalized to match thank of the existing software model for IBM products.

second, you’ve to rerun the ILMt import to get a link with the software models.

best, Dennis

Hi CeeCee,

I've performed manual uploads before from ILMT to ServiceNow before because the customer had outsourced IBM SAM to a third party and the third party wouldn't allow us access. What you'll need to do is obtain a report from ILMT - pvu_sub_capacity - and transform this data into the samp_ilmt_sw_install table via an import set.  This will bring in the PVU values. The data you need is in the screen shot below:

You'll then need to normalize any Discovery Models that have been created following the import which have a status of “Publisher Normalized or “Partially Normalized”.

Once this is done the software model will be linked to the discovery model and will use the PVU values during reconciliation.

Hi Mike,

I have done the integration with ILMT below tables are populated

1. Product Usage table

2. Device Usage table

3. ILMT Discovered Computers

But I do not see any records in samp ilmt_sw_install table, and I guess because of the same reason we do not have any results in reconciliation. What could be the cause of this table being empty?

Hi, the product_usage_table is used by the OOTB ILMT integration to create a link between the discovery models, ILMT record and software models.

It’s not required to put data into another table when using the OOTB integration.

please follow our instructions and onboard entitlements, normalize ILMT discovery models, run recon, run ILMT import.

Best, Dennis

Hi Dennis - does the reconciliation engine pull the PVU usage data from this table? Per my initial comment it used to be the samp_ilmt_sw_install table.
