Hi

What is the use of the field 'Ignore installs' on the Software product form. How will it work.

Selecting "ignore installs" in the custom software product will make it so on-premise installs of the product won't be counted. This checkbox is to be used for SaaS software where users or another metric is counted and is not based on the device where it's installed.

@Alex Panzarella  Thank you Alex 🙂

Even I thought the same but just wanted confirmation as this was not documented anywhere.

Hello,

sorry but for my case this does not work.

The problem here is that there are OOB Subscription Products where the ignore install is set to "false" and cannot be changed , it's read only.

If I create a Custom Product this does not work because ServiceNow says me that a Product with the same name is already present.

Oh yeah I can see that issue - and product is not really something you can modify.  Are you wanting to ignore something that is an assigned subscription so the installs do not count?  If so you can set the license type to subscription/user subscription and that will ignore the installations.
