Importing Bulk Assets and use existing model?

Hello everyone,

I am attempting to import bulk quantities of assets into snow from an excel spreadsheet. I am running into issues where it is trying to create a new model and am having trouble figuring out how to get it to associate the model with an existing model I already have. I already have the models created for these items and need to bulk import, also am having issues with it adding them to the specified stockrooms. Have tried a variety of different things but I cannot get the import to use an existing model. I attached the template I am testing any pointers would be great, we have thousands of these coming in and are currently having to enter them manually.

Hi,

If you want to create a new model, then you will need to do it as a separate upload first in model table and then populate the asset table.

This is how we are using the bulk upload process.

Same goes with Stockroom as well.

I already have the models created as well as the stockrooms, when I do the import though it tries to create a new model instead of associating the items with the existing model. Any thoughts on how I can get it to associate an existing model and not try to create a new one? The stockroom field just seems to just remain blank after the import. Am I doing something wrong, I have the stockroom labeled exactly as it is in the system on the import sheet.

Hi,

Please check the choice action in the transform map's field mapping. It should be kept as "ignore" and not "Create".

Kindly check this and have it same as you have for Stockroom one.

Thank you for your response, I got everything working but I still cannot get the imported assets to sync with items to be received on a PO. They will be added on the PO under assets but the quantity to receive remains the full amount and will create duplicates. Any idea how I can get the imported assets to sync with the assets to be received?
