Installation table not showing Normalized Product & Normalized Publisher

Hi all,

In the installation table, we only see Normalized Product & Normalized Publisher for Licensable products. For Non-licensable & Child products these columns remain blank while the Discovery Models have been normalized.

Is that 'as designed'? It's kind of annoying when reporting on installations (outside of reporting module) and the columns aren't always populated with this data.

Thanks!

Hi @BelindaViegen,

no, it's not by design as you can see by my attached screenshot.

Are you able to provide the same screenshot from your install table, including the columns "Product Type" and "Normalization Status". I would also request a screenshot for one of the Non-Licensable Discovery models where the Norm_Publisher/Product is empty in your table.

Best, Dennis

Hi Dennis, I don't even have the option to add the columns "Product Type" and "Normalization Status" to the table. ??

One of the Non licensable discovery models that doesn't show Norm_Publisher/Product is Acrobat Reader

Hi @belina ,

some additional remarks:

Can you provide a screenshot for one of the discovery models without normalized publisher / product? I From the screenshot it looks like the discovery models are not normalized, i.e. no "normalization pattern" could be applied.

If you do not have the rights to add additional columns in the list view, try opening the list "software installations" in the "Software Asset Workspace" (License Operations > Software Installations) OR create a report (Navigation filter: Reports > View / Run) on the "Software Installations" table.

For both options, you can "dot walk" via the "Discovery Model" to the fields "Product type" and / or "Normalization Status".

Hi @BelindaViegen ,

I understand you're having trouble with the installation table not displaying the Normalized Product and Normalized Publisher. This issue can be frustrating, especially when setting up your environment.

One possible cause might be related to your configuration settings or the installation process itself. It’s essential to ensure that your environment meets all prerequisites for proper installation. If you are using the Intel Arc GPU, verify that the drivers are correctly installed and updated, as outdated drivers can sometimes cause display issues in software applications.

Here are a few steps you might consider:

  1. Check Installation Logs: Review the logs for any errors or warnings that may indicate what's going wrong.

  2. Reinstall the Software: Uninstall the current version, restart your system, and then reinstall the software to eliminate any potential installation issues.

  3. Update Drivers: Ensure your Intel Arc GPU drivers are the latest version by downloading them from Intel's official website.

  4. Review Configuration Settings: Double-check the settings within the software to confirm that everything is configured correctly for normalization.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please provide more details about your setup, and I’d be happy to assist further.

Best regards!

Alisa
