Hi Community,
I’m currently working on a SAM Pro normalization scenario and facing an issue where some records are not getting normalized even though they appear to match the Content Library.
Here are the steps I performed:
Created an Import Set Table and loaded data using an import file source (successful load).
Configured a Transform Map with:
Source table: Import Set Table
Target table:
cmdb_sam_sw_install
Used Mapping Assist to map fields and ran the transform (completed successfully).
Verified data in both:
Software Installation (
cmdb_sam_sw_install)Software Discovery Model (
cmdb_sam_sw_discovery_model)
Executed the scheduled job:
"SAM - Normalize discovery models using content library rules" (completed successfully).
After normalization, I extracted the results:
Total records loaded: 5033
Discovery Models created: 4364
Fully Normalized: 541
Partially Normalized: 364
Match Not Found: 3458
Issue:
While analyzing the "Match Not Found" records, I noticed that some records have correct Publisher, Product, and Version values, and these details exactly match (100%) with entries in the Content Library.
However, these records are still not getting normalized.
Example Record:
Display Name: ZeroFox
Publisher: ZeroFOX, Inc.
Version: (blank)
This product is available in the Content Library, but normalization is not happening.
Questions:
If there is an issue with the uploaded data, shouldn’t all such records fail normalization instead of only some?
What could be the possible reasons for records matching the Content Library but still showing as "Match Not Found"?
Are there additional checks or configurations (e.g., normalization rules, product models, publisher normalization, missing versions, etc.) that I should verify?
Has anyone encountered a similar issue before? Any suggestions or troubleshooting steps would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Akhil K
