Is it possible to add an out-of-the-box category to a custom Service Catalog?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a project in my Personal Developer Instance (PDI) where I'm creating a custom Service Catalog with my own categories and catalog items.
I've successfully created my custom catalog, and now I'm trying to reuse one of the out-of-the-box categories (for example, Hardware or Software) under my custom catalog instead of creating a new one.
I tried opening the category record and changing the Catalog field, but it's read-only. I also tried creating a copy of the category using Insert/Insert and Stay. However, the Catalog field remains read-only, so I am unable to associate the copied category with my custom catalog.
Is there a supported way to:
- Add an existing out-of-the-box category to a custom catalog?
- Change the catalog associated with an existing category?
- Or is duplicating the category and recreating it under the new catalog the only option?
If anyone has faced a similar situation or knows the recommended approach, I'd really appreciate your guidance

Hi,
Your last option is the method to go with. Catalog items can be linked to many categories and catalogs so what you can do is create your new category, and use a script to clone the relationships of the out of the box category
Relationships sit on the sc_cat_item_category table and can be duplicated so an item sits in both
