License Allocation Beyond Purchase Limits

Hi Team,

In SAMPro for the entitlement with agreement type 'Enterprise License Agreement'(ELA) where the license position is compliant even if there are unlicensed installs, but in the allocations we were able to allocate only for the purchased license count.

To overcome this we tried with the below method,

By creating an 'Enterprise' contract and associate this with the Enterprise software entitlement, then we were able to allocate beyond the purchased license count. So could you please let us know is this the best practice that can be followed for allocating the license beyond the purchase limit

Hi @Kavin kumar M ,

Not sure on the actual ask here. Couple of follow up questions I have to understand this better:

1. Does the platform restricts you to define the number of allocations more than purchased rights? I think platform will allow you but it should show Reconciliation result as Non Compliant for that product.

2. If your org has an unlimited license, then you can also think about utilizing this feature of Unlimited license checkbox which will be visible based on what License metric you have selected.

Hope this helps. Please mark the answer as correct/helpful based on impact.
