Please explain the concept of review and track the end of life (EOL) software products

Hi Folks,

 

I am trying to explore and understand the different sections in Software Asset Workspace. I am not able to understand how the data to be populated in the Lifecycle Management dashboard section.  I also have gone though the doc link https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/yokohama-it-asset-management/page/product/software-asset-mana...

 

It is not clear to me that how it is working behind the scene and how it is related to entitlement, software model data.  Anyone had worked on this? I am expecting to understand this concept in simple words.
