Hi @Manu143 ,
I hope this answer helps.
ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) supports the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Publisher Pack, which can be used to manage licenses for Red Hat Enterprise Linux products.
To enable this functionality, install the Software Asset Management Professional for IBM Publisher Pack plugin from the ServiceNow Support Service Portal.
Discovery Requirements
ServiceNow Discovery needs to be performed on the Linux servers to collect the required data. If Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) is part of the environment, the Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) Discovery Pattern is required to discover the RHV-related data. The Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application should be enabled to support this discovery.
Once Discovery has been completed and the required Red Hat Enterprise Linux server data is available in ServiceNow, along with the corresponding software installation records in the cmdb_sam_sw_install table, you can configure the software entitlements for the Red Hat software.
Documentation Link to setup the Entitlements for the RHEL Server:

Documentation link for the Linux Server Discovery:

Thanks,
Maniteja.

Hi @Manu143,
For Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), ServiceNow supports licensing through the Software Asset Management Professional for IBM publisher pack (com.sn_samp_ibm).
The high-level setup is
- Activate SAM Professional for IBM (com.sn_samp_ibm).
- Install the CMDB CI Class Models application, which is required for RHEL reconciliation.
- If you are using Red Hat Virtualization (RHV), install Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns to enable the RHV discovery pattern.
- Configure/import your RHEL Software Entitlements.
- For the entitlement, select Metric group = Red Hat and choose the appropriate metric:
- Per Socket-pair
- Per Core
- Run SAM reconciliation and review the results under Software Asset Workspace → License usage → Publishers → Red Hat.
ServiceNow supports RHEL Server and RHEL for Virtual Datacenters through this publisher pack.
