I am new to integration & I want to configure red hat publisher integration with SAM, can someone guide me on this.

ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) supports the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Publisher Pack, which can be used to manage licenses for Red Hat Enterprise Linux products.

To enable this functionality, install the Software Asset Management Professional for IBM Publisher Pack plugin from the ServiceNow Support Service Portal.

Discovery Requirements

ServiceNow Discovery needs to be performed on the Linux servers to collect the required data. If Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) is part of the environment, the Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) Discovery Pattern is required to discover the RHV-related data. The Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application should be enabled to support this discovery.

Once Discovery has been completed and the required Red Hat Enterprise Linux server data is available in ServiceNow, along with the corresponding software installation records in the cmdb_sam_sw_install table, you can configure the software entitlements for the Red Hat software.

Hi @Maniteja_2003 ,

In our environment, the Red Hat installation data is already being discovered through ServiceNow Discovery. We have also configured the Red Hat entitlement, and device/entitlement allocations are being created successfully. License consumption is being calculated based on the discovered devices.

Given that Discovery is already providing the required inventory data and entitlement allocation is functioning as expected, would a separate Red Hat integration still be required?

Could You confirm if this understanding is correct or share any scenarios where a Red Hat integration would still be required despite Discovery and entitlement allocation already being in place?

I hope this answer helps.

If the Discovery setup has been completed successfully, the required data is being populated correctly, and reconciliation is working as expected with the created entitlements, then no additional integration or setup is required.

Since everything appears to be working as expected, no further configuration should be necessary at this point.
