Product type is populated from samp_sw_product table which is a ServiceNow provided product library. You can raise a request to ITAM content team to update this value. However, It'll be updated upon verification via valid publisher documentation.

I have managed to accomplish this by ,modifying the Software Discovery Model (cmdb_sam_sw_discovery_model). Revert the Normalization via the button in the upper right, then you can re-set all the parameters. When you get to the 'Product Type' field (additional information section) , set it to 'Not Licensable' and Update.
Hope that helps

Hi Vasant, did you try to run a reconciliation ? Software Discovery Model flagged as not licensable , should trigger reconciliation to ignore the software installations, regardless what is set at the Software Model.
In our instance, where Software Models are sourced from a different system (vs having ServiceNow autocreate them) this approach works.
Give it a try
