Software entitlement and Custom license metric

Hi Team ,

We have some retired license metrics that needs to be replaced by normalized metric. But while performing this in existing software entitlements SNOW is giving out a warning about deletion of existing Device allocations and User allocations if we replace the metric. (even though in some case it allowed us to replace the license metric and save the entitlement without removing the existing allocations in that respective entitlement).

Has anyone got any idea on the above scenario. Please suggest a workaround too if possible.

@Vivek John Every time you change the license metric of an existing record, it will prompt this message "Changing the license metric on an entitlement may lead to deletion of any existing User or Device Allocations." 

It will keep the User or Device Allocations if the changes are of the same type (user to user or device to device) - e.g. For User Allocations, license metric changes to User Subscription, Per User, Named User, Application User, etc. For Device Allocations, license metric changes to Per Device, Per Named Device, etc. If not, it will definitely clear/remove the allocations.

You may want to export the list of users or devices allocated to a particular entitlement before you make any changes so as not to lose that information.

We actually tried and was success in importing software entitlements with the updated license metrics values using Import set and transform mapping.
