SAM Pro - Software Entitlements for Software Models with Multiple Tiers

I am working on installing and configuring SAM Pro, specifically the SaaS License Management.  I have connected to our Azure AD to pull the SSO Applications, users, and group memberships and as part of that process ServiceNow automatically created the SSO Application records and associated Software Model records where it could.  In some cases a single Software Model record was associated to multiple SSO Application records.  We are now working on loading the Software Entitlement data to view spend data.  My question is, what is the proper way to create Software Entitlements (or whatever the proper record type is) for Software Models that have multiple licensing tiers?

For example, one of our SSO Applications is Tableau.  Tableau has Creator, Viewer, and Explorer licenses each with a different associated cost.  How do I associated those different costs and types?

Thanks in advance.

Chad:  ServiceNow has those listed as products...on the software model if you look for publisher = Tableau Software and product is either Creator, Viewer, Explorer...you should see these three show up.

After that, in your SSO applications list -> you'll need to update the software models to the software models you created.

Couple of places to review...

Process for the Software model coming from Azure AD:  https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/sandiego-it-asset-management/page/product/software-asset-management2/task/connect-azure-ad-apps.html

You may need to review your subscription identifiers:  https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/sandiego-it-asset-management/page/product/software-asset-management2/concept/subscription-identifiers.html#subscription-identifiers

Hope that helps.

Thanks Akash.  I'll take a look at that.

Hi Akash,

I looked into this more and there is only one Tableau application in our AD.  That application has multiple groups whose memberships grant the various levels of access.  So, even if I create Tableau Creator, Explorer, and Viewer models, there is only the one SSO Application record to associate a Software Model to.  Is there a way to still have the different entitlements associate with user subscriptions?  Maybe to differentiate Software Models by AD group?

Thanks,

Chad

Chad:  sorry it took me a bit to get back to you...

I haven't dealt with Tableau specifically; I am checking with some folks to see if I can get some details about your question.  However, I would recommend creating a HI ticket to see if support has something to assist you with.

Sorry...if I hear something I will update this post.
