Hello Team,
Good Day.
Can we align Software Model to Discovery Model without DMAP.
If yes how can we get the consumption out of this.
Thank You.

Hi @prasaddeshp,
the DMAP is not the link between Software Model & Discovery Model. A DMAP is just the definition of the main attributes per software model (Publisher, Product, Edition, Version) and is most likely used in combination with a PPN onboarded entitlement.
The requiered matching between the software model and discovery model is based on the normalized discovery model attributes (Publisher, Product, Version, Edition) and the matching software models based on these attributes. Models with a generic definition (e.g., only Publisher and Product) will cover a few more discovery models and installs.
Hope this helps! Best, Dennis

Hello Dennis,
Thanks for the answer.
So can we say that DMAP is not mandatory for SW model & without DMAP also we can arrive at software consumption.
And if DMAP is not mandatory, can we change the SW models for software installations.
Thank You.

Hi @prasaddeshp
So can we say that DMAP is not mandatory for SW model & without DMAP also we can arrive at software consumption.
Yes, this statement is correct. You can verify the linked discovery model for each software model using the related links to show matching discovery models
And if DMAP is not mandatory, can we change the SW models for software installations.
No, the link between software install and software model is based on the main attributes per software model (Publisher, Product, Edition, Version) which is the base for the matching discovery models (normalized discovery model attributes (Publisher, Product, Version, Edition) )
Best, Dennis
