Use SAM to optimize licenses for ServiceNow itself?

Like many customers, our deployment uses several licensed modules from ServiceNow.

However, it's a standard feedback I hear from the key stakeholders that are managing the licenses on our platform for various modules, that the OOB dashboards/reports are insufficient to identify and optimize the license allocations within the platform.

Has ServiceNow or the implementations of SAM on ServiceNow been able to leverage the SAM capabilities that, ServiceNow prescribes to optimize the license costs on other vendors, to use for itself?

I have searched through this forum to see if this conversation happened already, and could not see much, however came across the following thread, and has no references to SAM.

ServiceNow does not use SAM for its own licenses.

Subscription management is something you can use. I don't know if that's what you are referring to by 'OOB dashboards', but if you configure that, you have the insight on what you are using.

Thanks @Mark Manders for your response.

Isn't it a pity/ disappointment that, ServiceNow is not able to apply it's own SAM to showcase the license utilization and optimization on the platform?

Regarding the Subscription Management, yes, that's what I was referring to.  But, as I mentioned previously, and also noted by ServiceNow that, it does not convey all the details needed to measure and optimize the licenses.

I agree - it would be a great demonstration use case to be able to manage my ITIL licenses via SAM SAAS subscription analytics.
