Hi,
When should I need to install MID Server during VR Tenable integration?
What do they mean by the "same environment"? I'm not sure about that.

Hi,
Roughly speaking, you always need a MID server to access resources internal to your organization (behind your firewall). You do not need a MID server to access resources outside your organization.
- Tenable.sc is "on-prem" i.e. an internal resource behind your firewall. (You need a MID server)
- Tenable.io is an external resource, NOT behind your firewall. (You do NOT need a MID server)

Hi @Chris McDevitt ,
I am having some doubts regarding the MID Server for integrating Tenable.sc with ServiceNow. Below are my questions:
- Can we use the existing MID Server? or Do I need to install a dedicated MID Server? What does the best practice say?
- If we are using an existing MID Server, what are the changes needed in the existing MID Server? Do we need to only configure the ports? or are there some more settings needed?
- If I am using a dedicated MID Server, what is the system and memory size required for the MID Server? In my case, approximately 90000 CIs are going to be scanned for vulnerabilities.
E.g:
If 1 Mid server per scanner -
Windows Server 2022
2 CPUs @ 2GHz or higher
16 GB Memory
80-100 GB Disk
Do we have any such specifications or white paper defined?
Regards,
Maloy Banerjee
