I have integrated Dynatrace SaaS with ServiceNow using the ServiceNow Dynatrace Service Graph Connector. The integration execution is successful — the connection status is Success, processing state is Success, and I’m not seeing any errors in the execution or transform history.
However, after the execution, I can see around 73 CIs marked as “Partial or Incomplete.” I’m trying to understand what exactly this means. Does a partial/incomplete CI indicate that some attributes or relationships are missing, or is it considered an actual integration/CMDB defect? Also, how can I identify which information is missing and trace it back to the data received from Dynatrace?
Another thing I noticed is that I can see hundreds/thousands of records passing through the integration/import process, but when I check the CI count, I’m seeing only around 2,000+ CIs. I’m not sure whether this difference is expected because some records are updating existing CIs, being transformed into the same CI, or being filtered/rejected.
Could someone please clarify:
- What causes a CI to be marked as Partial/Incomplete?
- Is it different from an actual CI/integration defect?
- Where can we check the missing attributes/details for these partial CIs?
- How can we correlate the partial CI with the corresponding Dynatrace entity/payload?
- Why can the import/processed record count be different from the final CI count?
Any guidance on the relevant ServiceNow tables or logs to check would be really helpful.
