Catalog item not showing on the service catalog items menu

Hi ServiceNow Community Developers,

I created a new category and added to it a new catalog item with all the necessary variables. It's a record producer that creates an incident record. I can navigate to it and when I use "Try it" it's working as a expected. The problem I am running into though is that my new catalog item is not showing up on the Service Catalog items list so users can select it and create an incident record. So basically when you type "Service catalog" on the filter navigator and you land on a page that contains all the active catalog items (as shown in the attached screenshot) my new catalog item is not showing up there and I don't know why. Any idea what is it that I could be missing / doing wrong? Kindly advise please.

Thanks,

Johannes

Hi Allen & Michael,

Thanks guys for your responses they were both very helpful.

Anyway I figured it out - I got the steps to get the behavior I was looking for from here https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/newyork-it-service-management/page/product/service-catalog-management/task/t_CustomizingTheHomepageForACatalog.html#taskwzkxznw4

Hi,

You'd need to add your new category to this page. Is your category there?

If not, you need to edit the page to add a "housing" for it, so that the item/producer can show up.

Example:

find_real_file.png Homepage Admin > Pages

And then click the respective page that you're talking about, and then edit it accordingly.

That page isn't as dynamic as you think. It's just a home page so if you added a new category, you will need to go to Homepage admin, find the page and add the category to the page.
