Our Business Applications are configured with Application Services and we use the production Application Service to manage Business Applications. For modules that use Business Application or Configuration Item like Change and Incident, we use the production App Service instead of the Business Application.
Digital Integrations are created to relate Business Applications, but with our structure, we want to relate Business Apps by Service to Service. This applies to Digital Interfaces as well.
We have our Technical Services in the cmdb_ci_service class, so we would not be able to create an interface with them (ex: AD LDAP integration)
We are considering changing the reference for provider and subscriber Business Application to Application Service (cmdb_ci_service) to handle this need.
The question is: Can (or should) we do this? If so, what downstream effects would this have? It appears that we will be able to show the desired relationships in the Dependency Map, but the concern is that it would break the EAW and any other APM tools.
