Dynatrace and SNOW integration

Hello

We are on Jakarta version and we are thinking of doing integration of SNOW with Dynatrace to leverage events captured by Dynatrace into SNOW, with Standard plugin (Free) available from SNOW storefront. (Shown in snap below). We would like to know following.
1) Is it possible to do this integration, just for events and not CMDB CIs? This way we can bring just events from Dynatrace.
2) If it is not possible will CMDB CIs from Dynatrace, reconcile with CIs already discovered by SNOW MID server?

If anyone has done this integration please share your experience on benefits and any issues faced with this Free Plugin.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Rajan Mehta

I would suggest reaching out to your Dynatrace support representative.  Dynatrace does have an integration with ServiceNow.  From what I have seen, the CMDB integration was pretty rudimentary, and used correlation_id to associate the Dynatrace objects with the ServiceNow CIs.  The problem there is that (at least when I saw it) this was a direct transform map and did not use the Identification Rules.  As a result, you are likely to continue to have duplicate issues if using this in combination with Discovery.  Some potential good news is that the ability to deal with Duplicates in London release seems to be significantly improved.  Also, my recollection is that the scripts that controlled the integration into ServiceNow from Dynatrace were something that could be modified, and therefore possibly overcome the duplication issue by modifying the integration to use the Identification engine.

Unfortunately this is only recollection from an evaluation and discussions, not first-hand experience, so definitely contact Dynatrace for more information about their integration.

Thanks Paulyphonica for your feedback. It's very important for us to know the details at this point before proceeding further.

I will reach out to Dynatrace team.

Hey,

You can try reaching out to ZigiWave as they're having large portfolio of integrations. Check out their website and ask if they're covering your scenario. Their integration platform provides wide variety of customization options, unlike the Dynatrace application itself.
