Grant read-only ITIL access

Is it possible to provide a read only ITIL access to a list of users without them being able to make some changes?

Can you think of a way we can grant access for “read only” so that they can still view other tickets?

The instance is Kingston

Maybe: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/kingston-platform-administration/page/administer/user-administration/concept/c_ReadOnlyRole.html

Yes, you can grant 'read-only' role to a user or group.

Hi ivopetrow,

Keep in mind that if you add this role (snc_read_only) to a user, they will not be able to create/update information on ANY table that they have access to.  For example, if you gave this role and the ITIL role to a senior exec so that they can look at tickets, they will be able to view the ITIL tickets in read-only mode, but they will no longer be able to create requests/incidents on their own behalf in the catalog or self-service.

You may need to look at other ways of managing their permissions to the ITIL items.  Perhaps you could elaborate on your requirements here, and we can give you a more determinate evaluation.

Thanks,

I have a user in the ITBM space (now called Strategic Portfolio Management) who needs to be able to see some records in ITSM.  They don't need to create/edit ITSM records, but they still need to create/edit ITBM records.

So if we give them the generic read-only role [snc_read_only], they will no longer be able to create/edit records on the project part of the platform.

Is there a read-only role that is ONLY for ITIL, where the read-only is limited to only ITSM application records?
