How can we map ServiceNow Portal URL to a custom URL (easy to remember, client domain)? When we create portal we used get https://<<instance-name>>.service-now.com/portals/clientname but how can we achieve askhr.clientname.com?

The easiest way is to get with whomever does your domain DNS and setup a redirect from a subdomain. So if someone goes to, for example, https://portal.[companyname].com it redirects automatically to your Service Portal URL.

As of London, we can enable instances to be accessible from a company-branded or custom URL. (Using one or multiple of those - or associating the URL to a portal). In order to do this, the company must own (or purchase) a URL through a domain provider. There are specific configurations which must be done outside of ServiceNow before the custom URL can be created on the instance. More details can be found here.
