How to open in a new tab from side navigation in workspace

Hi,

For a project, I’m trying to find a way to open an internal route page in a new tab from the side navigation panel in Workspace.

My goal is that when I click an icon in the left navigation, it opens the page in a new tab instead of replacing the current main page.

I’ve tried several approaches using chrome_toolbar, but without success.

Ideally, if the tab is already open, it should simply switch to that tab (similar to the default chrome_tab behavior).

Has anyone implemented this or found a workaround?

Have you since been able to figure this out? I am having the same issue working in the Service Operations Workspace trying to have a left nav link open a standalone page from the same experience in a new tab. Adding the page route to the contextual object in chrome_tab got it opening in a new tab, but it is a "record/session tab" thus the main tab title ends up displaying the title of the new tab even though the main tab is not displaying that page, which is not what I want.
