Service Portal Search icon

Hi. The Service Portal search icon is not working. It does not bring up any results or catalog items. Please how do i resolve this.   Thank you

You need to add your portal to the Knowledge Bases.

1. Navigate to All > Service Portal > Portals.
2. Select the portal for which you want to enable search for the desired knowledge bases.
3. In the Knowledge Bases related list, click Edit.
4. On the Edit Members form, move the desired knowledge bases from the available items in the Collection column to the Knowledge Bases List column.
5. Click Save.

If this is the newly created portal then you need to define the capability of portal and enable the limited search. Following below will be the recommendation in this scenario.

1. Navigate to your Portal record and you will see the below Related tabs by default. In these tabs you define which areas portal can search around.
2. 
3. If the portal is created for the intent to use Multiple Catalog Items. You can add the Record in the Catalog related tab like Service Catalog. This will enable all catalog items in the Service Catalog to be visible on the portal.
4. If the intent of portal is also to utilize Knowledge Base data then you can add knowledge bases. This will enable the visibility of Article, Questions and Feature content etc.
5. You can also define the Search Source. You can edit it and add the Catalog. This will enable the visibility of all catalog items in portal through search.

Hope this will clear the path you need to take according to your requirements.
