Why this matters: the promotion problem

Misconfigured promotions are one of the most common sources of production incidents on ServiceNow. The root cause is almost always the same:

⚠ Wrong tool for the job	Using Update Sets for changes that belong in a Scoped App — or vice versa — creates fragile, hard-to-maintain pipelines.
⚠ The deletion blind spot	Deletions don't propagate through the App Repository. That ACL you removed in dev? Still running in prod.
⚠ Shadow configuration	Artifacts built outside Studio that never make it into the app definition — accumulating silently across every future version.
