Agentic AI- how to use agent to extract information from documents

Hi

i want to build an agentic ai to parse information out of document attached to tool "File Upload",

i am not able to user any response from agent.

1. after adding tool "file upload" and adding document, it keep showing extracting data"

 

Basically idea is to first try to gather information from documents as knowledge base and if did not get data use web search.

pls advice what tool or anything else to use?

This usually happens because “File Upload” only stores the document and it doesn’t automatically let the agent read it. When there’s no separate read/extract step the agent just sits at extracting data.

A few things u can check:

  • Make sure your agent has a file read / text extraction tool, not just upload

  •  Test with a small text-based file scanned or protected PDFs often get stuck

  • If the doc has no readable text, you’ll need OCR first

My Recommendation:

Read/extract text from the uploaded document then Parse or summarize it. Only fall back to web search if the document returns nothing
