Can we turn off the stage for Request Approved?

When you're looking at the Request Item table and seeing the Stage field for the RITM, the very first stage is 'Request Approved'.
Is it possible to not have this stage icon displayed on the Req Item table? All of the requests are approved, we don't have any approvals at the request level.

The stages are shown based on what is selected in your workflow. This article will give you more details: Workflow Stages - ServiceNow Wiki
You can customize the workflow stages per what you want to show on RITM.

But you can't get rid of the Request Approved stage at the very beginning.

We are trying to remove the "Request Approved" icon as well, which just started appearing after we upgraded to Geneva. The two links provided didn't really answer the question, as far as I could tell. Has anyone else had any luck removing this stage icon?

HI Liam,
not sure, but did you look at the workflow properties, click on the 'statge' tab, and try selecting 'Legacy'. I remember doing something there once for a client.
