Where can I change the default status of a CI?
When an asset is created and a CI automatically is created, the status is set to installed by default. Where can this be changed?

It appears that I can't change nor create new entries here in Asset-CI Install Status Mapping table even with elevated security role...
That's not what elevated security is for.

Well, my point was to show that I'm admin and even if I elevate my role to security admin, I can't change nor create any rows in this table.

Dear Henrik,
Yes, that's because of an ACL with the description: "Nobody can edit the 'Out of the box' state mappings".
You can tweak that and you will be able to test out the requirement.
BTW what status of the CI must be by default when its getting created through Asset?

Default state on asset form is 'In Use' and as per the install status mapping table OOB it is mapped to CI status 'installed'.
I think if you check the mapping tables mentioned above you will get the rest of mappings too .
