Currently on Quebec. We populated a KB with several hundred articles, but the categories were not set. Beyond just scripting it, is it possible to change the settings so that the category can be changed without having to check out the article and re-publish?

There is a property you can edit for this:
Knowledge -> Administration -> Properties

Thanks! That was it. I also had to check the box of the 'Enable minor edits' field above that (already checked on yours).

You can use data source, transform map import to update categories of existing KB articles.

I would like to know how can we update only published articles category and not the retired/draft/preview etc ones?
Also if the category does not exit, skip the update, Absolutely no new insets for both category and article?
