Default filter for Edit Members screen

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a way to control the default filter on the Edit members screen.
This is the screen you get when you click the Edit button on a related list, not the related list itself.
For example, say you want to give a group a role. You open the group, scroll to the related lists, and open the Roles related list. Then you click on the Edit button, and a screen called Edit members comes up. There is a filter at the top of that screen. That's what I'm trying to change.
I've done some serious searching around this, and haven't been able to find anything besides how to change the default filter on the related list itself. You do that by adding the Edit Default Filter field to the List Control form, and editing it there. That works really well at changing the default query for the related list, but it does not change the query on the Edit members screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
