What 'Type' can be added to an assignment group which contains 'pa_viewer, itil, release_v2_user, u_call_user' role?

Hi @SakshamB,

The Type is up to you/your company/organization. For my organization, Type is a tracking capability for Group Management in calling them for Assignment Group Fields, Flows or just tracking how many of a Group Type we have.

Hope this helps!

Hello @SakshamB ,

Let's look into each of your roles first and you will come up with a good group type. Group Types refer to the different categories or purposes for which a group is created.

1. 'pa_viewer':  allows users to view performance analytics dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.

2. 'itil': core role for ITSM processes, allowing users to manage incidents, changes, problems, and service requests.

3. 'release_v2_user': this role most likely tied to managing or interacting with the release management process (related to managing the lifecycle of IT releases).

4. 'u_call_user': your custom role

The commonality among these roles is that they all provide access to specific parts of the ServiceNow platform, mainly in ITSM, while ensuring users only have permissions relevant to their roles.

You can add these roles to a general group type of "User Access Roles..." or "Permission Roles...". The naming convention is up to your company but I would general prefix something like UA_(UA indicating it's a user access group type) followed by the name that describe their permission based on  your organization. The prefix is my best practice to easily identify each of the group type.

thanks!
