How to add a wildcard search in a list collector?

Hi, 

I am trying to figure out how to search in my *Select project(s) without adding the asterisk wildcard. Essentially when I search with an (*)spaces it will populate Cisco Spaces. I want to be able to search without having to add the asterisk. 

Note:

Variable 

Type: List Collector 

 I need to update the Type Specifications variable attributes.
