How to clone the "sp" Service Portal for a new Service Catalog

Hi People, I need 2 different Service Catalogs, so I thought I just clone the built in "sp" Service Portal. Whats the easiest way to do that?

I have seen tha article on hacking 2 service catalogs into one common portal, but I need to think about upgradeability.

Hi NagyDan,

A service portal is not a service catalog.  You will find things much easier if you simply clone the catalog you are using in that portal and work forward from there.  Doing what you propose will leave you with two portals each having the same service catalog.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, but I don't understand your requirements. Starting with Madrid one Service Portal can support more as one Service Catalogs. Additionally, one can specify which catalog items available for which group of users by creating User Criteria and assigning there via Availability For related list on Catalog Item. The feature exists already in old versions of ServiceNow.

Cloning is possible for widgets and pages, but not for the whole portal. You can create new portal and assign another Service Catalog to the portal, but it solves not the permission problem. One can explicitly specify sys_id of any catalog item from another portal and the item will be displayed. So if you really need to restrict some catalog items, then you will still have to create User Criteria and assigning there to Catalog Item via Availability For.

Guys, none of these help. I need 2 service catalogs. Right?

I am on London, not Madrid, and I'm staying on London, not upgrading to Madrid.

I don't want to use the "Available for" option on the Catalgoue Items, to hide them for users, so I really need 2 service catalgues.

So how can I get 2 separate service catalogues?

You'll want to navigate to the Catalog list by putting sc_catalog.list in the filter navigator.

Click "New" to create a new catalog.

Next you'll need to move the catalog items to the new Catalog like so:
