If it is really necessary, to use one portal in London release, using more than one catalog, you need to dynamically set the catalog in the widgets.
For example in the catalog widget, you can find a statement selecting the used catalog of the portal. There, you can tweak in, and chose your required catalog depending on what criteria you ever want to.
