Hi,
we have added Meta tags to the catalog item, and when we search this meta from the ESC portal OOB global search we are not getting any results
can anyone help me with the steps to include meta tags to the search bar

Ahoy @s_dinesh01,
that should work automatically unless it is configured to skip it.. check fro the search profiles and search configurations of your portal/esc.
How do you use the meta words, can you give an example to review? Does it happen for just some metas or not a single one works?
Also, what user does it test? Ensure that the testing person satisfies the user criteria to avoid situations that a user is searching for an item using meta words but not having access to that particular item.

another thing to review is that the particular item has Catalog and Category populated:
You can search for all the active items with existing meta words:
https://yourinstance.service-now.com/sc_cat_item_list.do?sysparm_query=metaISNOTEMPTY%5Eactive%3Dtrue
and then try to search for these in the portal to see if there's any pattern:
- do you see all of them,
- some of them,
- none of them.
Then compare between these - their catalog/category, their user criteria, ...
