how to make approval history captured in activity log in servicenow?

Hi,

The approval history is not getting captured only for a particular catalog item. it doesn't show the approval requested or approved in the activity log area. 

troubleshooting done: tried checking in workflow>administration>properties>log user approval activity

Also, the check box in the filter in the activity log area is checked.

is there anyone who knows how to troubleshoot to find the root cause?

If this catalog item corresponds to a different and unique table from the rest then that may be where to start.
