I have tried to configure Document Viewer on my Kingston DEV instance but without success. I followed the help here: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/kingston-platform-administration/page/use/using-forms/task/view-attachment-doc-viewer.html
My kb_knowledge collection dictionary has attribute:
I have the system properties for document viewer configured:
I have system property forcing download disabled:
But still when clicking "view" link in the knowledge article, it opens new window but still downloads the file:
The URL of new window is "sys_attachment.do?sysparm_referring_url=tear_off&view=true&sys_id=4e5d77764f30130000e7a7d18110c794" which looks that it really tried to "view" it but it is blank and file downloads.
Any idea what I could miss? 🙂
Thanks,
Dominik

I put in a HI ticket. They are telling me that there's a plugin that needs to be activated, but the plugin isn't available yet. They are still checking with development but the official answer at the moment is that the feature is not ready for customer use. Not sure why they advertise it as a new feature then!

Hi Bryan,
I have got the same information. There is plugin called "ServiceNow Document Viewer" but available only to "maint" role so we cannot activate it as admins only. Once I got this activated, it works and opens PPTx, XLSx files properly.
Unfortunately I did not manage it to have it working for XLS and PPT files even I have all the properties set to support these content types and suffixes.
Best regards,
Dominik

At this time the document viewer should not be used. There is current problem PRB1259193 addressing this. At the moment the document viewer plugin should not be activated by support.

Hello Dooma,
I think for enabling this you will have to reach our customer support.
We are trying to update the documentation to reflect the same.
Thanks,
Abhishek
