We want to provide our users with quick to remember vanity URLs like instance.service-now.com/request then that URL will redirect to some specific page in ServiceNow (requests page). This way we don't need to provide the actual hard to remember URLs just to navigate on specific pages.
This will be useful as well to direct users to specific knowledge base articles (for example go to instance.service-now.com/resetpassword to link to kb article on how to reset their password).

How about service portals? It allows urls that is without .do at the end. If we will only use this for example a quick link to the request page, do you think it would be possible to have a service portal redirect to a URL?

Sorry not in practice. Since you want it to end with a unique number, then you need a page for each number
I love ServiceNow, but this URL things is one of the crappy things about ServiceNow. That and not supporting reverse proxy which is not being able to have like www.goran.com to point to my instance and keeping that url in the browser without turning into the goran.service-now.com. Which most cloud suppliers like Azure etc. have is not really 2017ish in my eyes. (Commented about this already here: https://community.servicenow.com/community/blogs/blog/2014/09/05/creating-a-custom-url#comment-12710 but sadly nothing changed yet what I know of).

Vanity URLs and access the web server's config directory for rewrite rules is not supported. I love the idea, however to do something like this.
I invite you to open an enhancement request! Our product managers DO listen.

(Ironically, there's no vanity URL I can use to link to this record on Hi....)
