Importing XML Files to CMDB

I have a bunch of xml files (50-100) from help the help desk that needs to be uploaded in the CMDB. I tried to use the (right click) import xml file functionality but it doesn't work. There is no record being created. I am also thinking about creating Scheduled import as I feel that I'll be doing uploads again in the future, but would it be possible if all files are from xml? which means that I need to upload as attachment those .xml to the created Data Source? Please advise.

Hi Joan,

The Import XML feature is used to migrate data from one instance to another, this implies that XML data was built conforming the CMDB table structure (field names, field types, sys id's, ...)

If your data is in XML format but does not match the table structure, then you need to build an import set and use a transform map.

Hi Amado,

Thanks for your reply. the data are from help the helpdesk on non networked computers. there's an import set created and transform map. But I am wondering what should be the good practice if there are 50-100 xml files.   Should I upload all of those as attachments?
