In an Order Guide, using Rule Base, setting variable values for checkbox variables

In one of my order guides, I am using Rule Base to set an Item Variable in a catalog item.  If the Item Variable is a text field, reference field, or Select box, I can set the value, (first screenshot). 

But if the Item Variable is a checkbox, I cannot set the value to “True”, (2nd screenshot).

I have this setup in the same order guide for other catalog items.  But somewhere along the line something has changed, not allowing the value to be entered.  Cannot submit unless a value is entered. 

Any suggestions or work-around?  Thanks.
