Hi - I would like to find out if there is any documentation/Literature that contains descriptions/definitions of technology that is covered by a specific class or subclass.

You can go to schema map of each CMDB and relationships table to find out dependancy for that class.
Below may help you to get started

Hi Sachin.
Thank you very much for the help and literature reference. This is very helpful indeed.
As you might have deduced already I am currently in the identification phase and planning scope for classes to be subject to process controls for Hardware Asset and Config Management.
I am scrutinizing the sub-classes, parent classes and sibling classes to make a best guess, but some are a little vague, considering there are 690 classes in Kingston release. ;-). So I am researching the possible definitions on the internet based on the class label names to try and get a better understanding of the function and platform of the types of technology that could be associated to the classes.
I just thought there might be a document that already has this information seeing as ServiceNow would need to understand this before adding classes and sub-classes to the CMDB functionality in ServiceNow.
Thanks again for your help.
