Not really a question, but the new menu in Next Experience UI is not an upgrade how I see it.
Visually = Improved
Functionally = Huge down grade
The old filter navigator searched through both favorites AND Applications/Modules. Now with the Next Experience UI, this is what got worse then before:
- In Favorites you can not find non favorite Applications or Modules, just like you could in UI 16. If I then have my favorites pinned and can't find what I'm looking for, I need to do more clicking and searching and that's not efficient.
See Fig. 01 and Fig. 03 - When searching in "All" menu, Favorites are not shown on top, just like they did in UI 16. I then need to scroll down and look for the star icon in order to find what I'm searching for. And that's also not an efficient way to work.
Fig. 02
Please let there be a fix for this. I've been trying to adapt to Next Experience UI, and for the most part I like it, but this will be a deal breaker for me and for many other users that I've spoken too.
Fig. 01 - Looking for a Module/Application that's not in my favorites.
Fig. 02 - All the way down here is my searched Application/Module, and not on top as in UI16
Fig. 03 - Searching from Favorites in UI16 where an Application/Module is not found as a Favorite

Hi Mark,
Here are few things which I dislike about new UI.
1) Scope and update set picker are hidden in Globe Icon and you are not sure in which scope or update set unless you click on globe icon. This is not honestly not good.
2) Look and feel of Old UI was better while doing something in application navigator. you can observe background color and fonts
3) In Old UI when I logged it always used to display favorites in application navigator and now I have to click on it.
4) In Slush bucket when you hover on available values it shows in complete blue color which I feel is not good.
You are happy to disagree.:)

I agree as a developer i am faster in UI16 than Next experience. The new menus are not great to say the least. One unified menu is much better. Any the inability to easily see scope and application on the header without clicking etc is simply not as good.

Henrik,
Personally I like it, but you can always the configuration to disable the new UI even when it has been set as the platform default...

Hello Henrik,
I am sorry to hear that this lost behaviour within the Unified Navigator to bring favorites to the top of the Navigator in the search results is a deal breaker to not use the new UI. Of course, we want our customers to switch to this new UI, but we should also recognise when we break previous behaviour and that the change may not suit all.
We do listen to feedback, so please raise a new idea for an enhancement to bring this to the attention of our Product Management team and once submitted, champion the idea to other users that also consider this change in behaviour a deal breaker and to upvote the idea, so that it gains more traction.
Add the link to your idea in this thread, so other community users who feel the same, can also upvote your idea.
I hope this helps and that Product Management review this lost behaviour and hopefully restore it in a future release.
Regards,
Brian
