Print knowledge article (widget only) with Service Portal formatting preserved

I have seen similar questions posed throughout the years but none seem to be specifically answered, or the solution might have adapted since. We are on Australia patch 5.

I want to be able to share a draft copy of the article, formatted as it would appear in the Service Portal to share with stakeholders before it is published so they can review and give feedback on the content prior to being published.

When you use the browser-native print function it doesn't always look the best, and this KB does some of the ask but it all in black and white with lots of formatting stripped back.

Is there a solution anyone has founded to allow an easy "Print article" from the article widget?

Why not allow them to see draft versions on the portal and just share the link? That's the only way to really see what it looks like?

Our stakeholder cohort is a bit complex and we are working on defining who can/should have draft view access - we don't want to confuse the average reader with a mix of draft and published articles in their view when they're not used to it. Sometimes we need to share the drafts with external stakeholders who cannot access our ServiceNow environment, so the need remains regardless. 🙂

Hello @Keszia

Have you tried adding a custom print button by cloning the widget "Knowledge Article Content":

The downloaded pdf looks similar:

Hope that helps!

I'd like to do that - is there a guide you found that achieved this? I would want the PDF to retain the colours, tables, formats etc, as if it was a screenshot.
